Emirates SkyCargo to transport cars for the Gumball 3000 rally

Emirates SkyCargo is set to transport four Mercedes Benz AMG GT63 4 Door cars from Dubai to the Gumball rally and back.
The airline will be doing this as part of partnership with Gargash Enterprises, one of the largest distributors of premium and luxury cars in the UAE.

This will Emirates SkyCargo’s second year working with Gargash on the transportation of cars for the Gumball 3000 rally, an annual celebrity event that raises money for charity.
The partnership agreement was signed by Nabil Sultan, divisional SVP, Emirates SkyCargo and Shehab Gargash, managing director & group CEO, Gargash Group.
The cars will travel from Dubai World Central aboard a Boeing 777 freighter that can carry up to 100 tonnes of cargo, as well as wide or oversized loads thanks to wide main deck doors.

“We had a successful collaboration last year which helped us showcase Emirates Wheels, our specialised product for transporting automobiles, to a large audience in the UAE as well as the rest of the world. We look forward to offering our First Class treatment to the Team Gargash cars participating in this year’s rally,” said Nabil Sultan, divisional SVP, Emirates SkyCargo.
Emirates SkyCargo regularly transports high value and unique automobiles on both its passenger and freighter aircraft across a global network spanning six continents.
During the last financial year, Emirates SkyCargo transported more than 1,050 luxury cars through Emirates Wheels.

DECATHLON ROLLS OUT PARCEL LOCKERS IN BELGIUM

Sports retailer Decathlon is working with bpost subsidiary Cubee to roll out parcel collection lockers at its stores in Belgium. The sports retailer and bpost are introducing collection points at 12 stores across Belgium by the end of 2019. The first points will be at stores in Maasmechelen and Olen, with Antwerp and Wavre to follow in the short term. The machine in the car park of the Maasmechelen store has 58 individual lockers. Built by Cubee, the technology allows customers to collect and return online orders from certain internet shops. Customers are sent an email or SMS with the collection code once the courier places the order in the Cubee parcel machine. In the future, Decathlon wants to use the machines to offer a same-day click and collect service.
