De Bok replaces Gilbert on DPDHL Group board



Oscar de Bok will join the board of management at Deutsche Post DHL Group, replacing John Gilbert who is leaving for personal reasons.
The 52-year-old who has Business Law and Private Law degrees from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands will take up the role on 1 October.
De Bok joined Deutsche Post DHL Group in 1999 after the acquisition of Nedlloyd where he held various sales and project management roles.
He rose to be managing director of DHL Supply Chain for several countries and regions such as Italy, the Nordics and Southeast Asia.
Most recently he has held the role of chief executive officer of DHL Supply Chain Mainland Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Dr Nikolaus von Bomhard, chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Post DHL Group says: “We regretfully accept John’s resignation from the Board of Management and express our sincere gratitude for his 25 years of successful service to the company. He moved the division to the next level by accelerating profitability, enhancing the portfolio and thereby fostering the position of DHL Supply Chain as undisputed industry leader.”

Saudia's cargo unit adds two planes to fleet

Two new B747-400 freighters increases fleet to 15; will be used in cargo charter market The cargo unit of Saudi Arabian Airlines is expanding its dedicated fleet with the arrival of two B747-400 freighters. Saudia Cargo's latest additions will form part of its 15-strong fleet, the carrier said in a statement. Of these aircraft, 12 will be used for Saudia's scheduled services to 27 freighter destinations worldwide, while its charter business will benefit from three dedicated B747 freighters. Steven Peter Scholten, vice-president Commercial at Saudia Cargo, said: "A 15-strong fleet with 12 aircraft being utilised for scheduled services, while the 3 dedicated charter aircraft will offer our clients more capacity in the ad-hoc charter market.
