DX GROUP FAILS TO RENEW PASSPORT OFFICE CONTRACT

DX Group fails to renew Passport Office Contract

Delivery solutions specialist DX Group PLC on Tuesday said its bid to renew a contract with Her Majesty’s Passport Office has been unsuccessful, with the deal due to expire in January 2020.
The company said that financial results for the year to June 30 will be unaffected by the losing of the contract. The firm added it remains “comfortably on track” to deliver market forecasts in the current financial year.
“Having held this contract for 14 years, we are disappointed not to have been successful in our bid, which we believe was based on commercially realistic terms,” Chair Ronald Series said.
DX said its board believes the firm “remains well-positioned to achieve existing market forecasts” of GBP7.7 million in earnings and revenue of GBP328 million in the next financial year ending June 30, 2020.
Series added: “DX’s turnaround strategy continues to show encouraging progress, and we are comfortably on track to attain market forecasts for the current financial year. We also believe the company is well-positioned to achieve market forecasts for profitability in the next financial year, even after the non-renewal of the contract.”

DECATHLON ROLLS OUT PARCEL LOCKERS IN BELGIUM

Sports retailer Decathlon is working with bpost subsidiary Cubee to roll out parcel collection lockers at its stores in Belgium. The sports retailer and bpost are introducing collection points at 12 stores across Belgium by the end of 2019. The first points will be at stores in Maasmechelen and Olen, with Antwerp and Wavre to follow in the short term. The machine in the car park of the Maasmechelen store has 58 individual lockers. Built by Cubee, the technology allows customers to collect and return online orders from certain internet shops. Customers are sent an email or SMS with the collection code once the courier places the order in the Cubee parcel machine. In the future, Decathlon wants to use the machines to offer a same-day click and collect service.
