Arrow XL teams up with PostTag for delivery precision

Two-person home delivery service  ArrowXL is working with PostTag, the destination data engine, in order to optimise deliveries with precise address information.
A PostTag analysis of over half a million UK addresses shows that 45% of standard GPS and navigation systems are off the mark by almost the length of a football pitch – forcing drivers to manually search for the right location.
ArrowXL is working with PostTag’s system to check the address details of every scheduled delivery across multi-databases. Once the programme is satisfied it has the precise location, it creates a unique PostTag for that property based on complete address data.
Once fully deployed, ArrowXL will use this solution to accurately guide its delivery drivers to the right location. This will be especially valuable for crews trying to find a particular home within large country estates where a single postcode can cover several miles of properties, or when they’re delivering a product to densely populated communal buildings like flats. As part of the integration, consumers will also be able to send ArrowXL the exact location of their property via GPS.
PostTag’s system will lead to substantial time and cost savings, as well as reduced mileage and a better carbon footprint.

DECATHLON ROLLS OUT PARCEL LOCKERS IN BELGIUM

Sports retailer Decathlon is working with bpost subsidiary Cubee to roll out parcel collection lockers at its stores in Belgium. The sports retailer and bpost are introducing collection points at 12 stores across Belgium by the end of 2019. The first points will be at stores in Maasmechelen and Olen, with Antwerp and Wavre to follow in the short term. The machine in the car park of the Maasmechelen store has 58 individual lockers. Built by Cubee, the technology allows customers to collect and return online orders from certain internet shops. Customers are sent an email or SMS with the collection code once the courier places the order in the Cubee parcel machine. In the future, Decathlon wants to use the machines to offer a same-day click and collect service.
