Collecting the Air Cargo Industry Achievement Award for Saudia Cargo was Mr Nabil Khojah, CEO. Saudi Airlines Cargo reports 6% revenue growth for H1

In the first half of the year, Saudia Cargo moved a total of 270,000 tonnes, breaking last year's record of 250,000 and achieving a 6% increase in revenue and a 4% increase in tonnage. Cargo moved on the bellies of passenger aircraft grew by 29%, with the main contributors being the USA (+50%) and the UK (+40%), while cargo boardings on the freighter network grew by 3%. Chinese airline set to launch flights to Dubai

China Eastern Airlines will start UAE route this month. Share by  ASC Staff Sun 31 Jan 2010 12:39 PM China Eastern Airlines is set to launch a new route to Dubai from the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming, the Xinhua News Agency has reported. The airline, one of the largest in China, will operate the service three times a week from February 22, it said. A 260-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft will be used for the service and the flight to Kunming will take seven hours. Only one of the three weekly flights, on Mondays, will be direct. The Wednesday and Saturday flights will have a stopover in the Bangladeshi capital of Dacca, which will add an extra hour to the flight. "The opening of the new air route will help increase the contacts between China and Dubai," an airline spokesperson said.

New aircraft design could break the aircraft duopoly Boeing's sales forecast could be hit by Chinese plane-maker's new design Share by  Sarah Cowell Thu 10 Sep 2009 04:00 AM China’s state-owned AVIC has unveiled its new C919 narrow-body design, which could mark an end to the large commercial aircraft duopoly enjoyed by Airbus and Boeing, said the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA). The 190-seat aircraft is expected to be in service by 2016, mostly with domestic customers. According to CAPA, Boeing expects Chinese carriers will order around 2600 new single-aisle aircraft in the next 20 years, potentially a US$200 billion.
